THE GEORGE COST-OF-LIVING INDEX
Base = 100 at the first month of verified data. This is Cheepa's
shelf-price index built from receipts, not the official CPI.
The evidence behind the number
Verified observations per week — the number we grow. Every bar is
a real receipt or shelf photo, human-confirmed.
Why these numbers can be trusted
- Receipt-verified only. Every observation is a real till slip or shelf
photo, confirmed before it counts. No scraped catalogues, no estimates, no models.
- Minimum cell of 3. No number publishes on fewer than 3 verified
observations — a cell below the floor shows “—”, never a guess.
- Geometric mean. One extreme price can't drag the index; +100% and −50%
cancel to zero, as they should.
- Age on the label. Every figure states how many observations back it and
how old they are. Prices with assumed dates are excluded entirely.

Where George's verified prices come from
Share of verified price captures by store — what shoppers verify,
not what tills ring up. Retail sales share is a different number; we don't claim it.

Watch verified coverage grow
A town earns an index the day it clears 3 verified observations on
a basket shared with George — no exceptions, no backfill. George is first. Your town
is next when its receipts arrive. 13 more towns are selectable in Cheepa; each appears
here the day its first verified price lands.
This page is the aggregate, public tier — free forever.
The granular tier goes to the shelf: per-store, per-product, weekly deltas, and a
full audit trail back to the verifying receipt. Licensed to brands, banks,
researchers and press.
Request the granular tier
We license data only at the density we'd defend in print — cells
below the verification gate are not for sale.
